The Hilarious House of Frightenstein is making a comeback

Another lovely day begins for ghosts and ghouls with green-ish skin. So close your eyes and you will find that you’ve arrived in Frightenstein. Perhaps the count will find a way to make his monster work today. For if he solves this monster-mania, he can return to Transylvania. So welcome where the sun won’t shine, to the castle of Count Frightenstein. Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ah ha ha ha ha haaa!

If you’re a child of the 70’s and 80’s, chances are you used to watch The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, which was a Canadian sketch comedy show for kids. The show took place in the castle of Count Frightenstein and features characters such as The Count, Igor, Bwana Clyde Batty, The Wolfman, Gronk, Harvey Wallbanger and Grizelda the Ghastly Gourmet. It was announced yesterday that a Toronto-based production company has acquired the rights to the old show and it’ll be making a comeback.

Although the show will be a reboot, the production company Headspinner Productions, will celebrate the legacy of the original. They are currently seeking a modern equivalent of Vincent Price to introduce each episode. Word has it that Alice Cooper is a massive fan of the show and has already reached out on several occasions.

With all of the reboots and remakes we’ve had recently, it’s about time that somebody brought back something as great as this magnificent piece of Canadiana. Alright then, I guess it’s just about that sad time of the day when Bwana Clyde Batty has to say Ooga Booga!
