Bad Parent

Peggy@99-1 welcomes Bad Parent at Prairie Theatre Exchange running November 2nd – 20th!

Parenthood is messy…especially with an audience

A new comedy by the creator of Kim’s Convenience!

Every parent feels like a bad parent at least some of the time. Just when you think you have a handle on it, everything changes. Norah and Charles are trying to navigate their life as parents of a toddler but are still trying to figure out who they are in relation to their son, to each other, and to the audience. An honest, funny, no-holds-barred portrait of young parents struggling to find their way.

Directed by Meg Roe

A co-production with Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre & Soulpepper Theatre Company

“The content of Bad Parent could well make for a fun TV series, following up on the success of Kim’s Convenience on CBC…. But as presented here the material is necessarily and rewardingly theatrical…” – Intermission

“Choi has captured the zeitgeist of new parenthood perfectly, and in a manner that is, ultimately, both charming and endearing.” – Ludvig Van Toronto blog
